We offer annual scholarships to Black students pursuing higher education and vocational training. Our goal is simple: to provide funding and encouragement so students can move forward with confidence and clarity.

THE GOOD WORK COLLEGE SCHOLAR

The Good Work College Scholar is awarded to one undergraduate student who demonstrates academic commitment, community impact, and a desire to uplift the Black community through their education and future career.

This $2,000 scholarship supports students pursuing a college degree who are committed to doing meaningful work that extends beyond themselves.

Who Should Apply & Eligibility

You’re eligible if:

  • Undergraduate students (incoming or current)

  • Accepted/enrolled in a U.S. college or university

  • U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or DACA recipient

  • Passion for uplifting the Black community

  • Commitment to making a positive impact

  • Interested in receiving mentorship and guidance from professionals in their field

Incoming freshmen must provide an acceptance letter. Current students must provide proof of enrollment.

The Good Work Vocational Scholar supports students pursuing vocational, technical, and trade careers that strengthen communities and create real-world impact.

This $1,000 scholarship is designed for students who are committed to mastering a skill, building a meaningful career, and using their training to contribute positively to the communities around them.

At The Good Work Foundation, we believe success does not follow one path. Skilled trades are essential to thriving communities, and we are proud to support students who are choosing hands-on careers that keep our communities moving forward.

Scholarship Value: $1,000


Who Should Apply & Eligibility

You’re eligible if:

  • Pursuing vocational, trade, or technical training

  • Accepted to or currently enrolled in an accredited program

  • U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or DACA recipient

  • Passion for using your skills to make a positive impact in your community

  • Commitment to career growth and skill development

  • Interested in mentorship and guidance from professionals in your field

Incoming students must provide an acceptance letter or admission confirmation.

Current students must provide proof of enrollment, such as a class schedule, training schedule, enrollment verification, or unofficial transcript.

THE GOOD WORK COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP SCHOLAR

In partnership with Excel Academy | 2026 Community Partner


The Good Work Community Partnership Scholar was created to support students within partner school communities who demonstrate leadership, purpose, and a commitment to uplifting others.

Through our 2026 partnership with Excel Academy, this scholarship recognizes graduating seniors who are preparing to continue their education while carrying forward the values of service, community responsibility, and personal growth.

This $1,000 award supports students who are ready to use their education to create meaningful change in the communities they come from.

Scholarship Value: $1,000


Who Should Apply & Eligibility

You’re eligible if:

  • A graduating senior of Excel Academy

  • Accepted to a college or university

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in any field of study

  • U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or DACA recipient

  • Demonstrate a commitment to community leadership and impact

  • Align with the mission and values of The Good Work Foundation

  • Interested in mentorship and guidance from professionals in your field

Scholarship recipients may also be invited to participate in our mentorship programming for additional support as they transition into college.


Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you may apply to multiple scholarships. However, applicants may only receive one award per cycle.

  • No. All scholarships are one-time awards and are not automatically renewed for future academic years.

  • Funds are paid directly to your college, university, or vocational program. Funds cannot be sent directly to students.

  • Yes. Applicants are encouraged to reapply in future years as long as they continue to meet the scholarship’s eligibility criteria.

  • Award decisions will be emailed to the address you provided in your application. Please ensure it is accurate and checked regularly.

  • Once submitted, applications cannot be edited. However, you may submit a new application. Please email us at scholarships@thegoodworkfoundation.org to let us know which submission should be reviewed.
